A single furnished room is not going to be tough to find at all....what are your preferences with respect to location and budget?

Would advise that you check out 99acres.com and magicbricks.com and do a couple of searches there . You can refine/search the results basis localities and that will give you a good idea of prices.

Keep in mind that most photographs will NOT be of the actual house. There's nothing safer than actually going and seeing the place. Having said that if you are keen on freezing something before landing then get the agent to send you actual photographs and please clarify everything with respect to the "funny rules" if any enforced by the landlords and other legalities..

Maybe the company has a guest house... a lot of them do...you could always ask that you be allowed to stay there for a week or so while you do the house hunting.

For meeting people , as suggested, the New Delhi meet up is an excellent option. Delhi is very proactive on it and meetups tend to happen as often as 2 times a month...

FYI -I am from Delhi as well, staying in South Delhi, Defence Colony so ask away...!
