Paying Guest/Roommate /Lodger

Hi,

I hope that people on this forum can help me out. I am helping a young intern (gap year) relocate to Delhi next month from the UK, in the 1st week of Sept.:
  • He will be with our foundation for 4 months
  • First time in India/Delhi
  • Looking for a furnished PG hostel, roommate/shared housing , or lodging with a family.
  • budget up to 16,000 Rs for room and board
I would appreciate it very much if anyone who has any leads or experiences to recommend, could share them.

Warm Regards

Tak

From Delhi.

If you are willing to shell out 16k, you will get AWESOME (read best in class) for a Paying Guest anywhere in Delhi.

Depending on the location of your foundation, you can find a place.

South Delhi: Vasant Vihar, New Friends Colony, South Campus
North Delhi: North Campus, Mukerjee Nagar
West Delhi: Punjabi Bahg
East Delhi: Preet Vihar, Patparganj

Depending upon location of your foundation, try picking up a place in above mentioned area. And with 16K, it wont be a problem !

The office is located in Saket, and so somewhere in the vicinity (either Saket itself or Malviya Nagar) would be ideal.

I also wanted to know if anyone has had experiences with a 'home stay' in Delhi? I would also appreciate it very much if someone could PM me leads on a specific PG or shared accommodation.

Then again...if you're a single young foreigner renting a barsati above a Punjabi family, chances are you'll find yourself in a de-facto 'homestay'.
