New Job in Gurgaon - Should I Live In Gurgaon or South Delhi?

I am moving to Delhi at the end of this month to begin a job in Gurgaon. I am a 23-year old American, and have been working and living in Hyderabad the last 6 months.

I wanted to ask for people's suggestions and input on where they think is best to live - Gurgaon or South Delhi? Right now I am leaning toward finding a place in South Delhi in the Green Park/Hauz Kaus/Malviya Nagar areas, and commute to work via Metro everyday on the yellow line.

It would be very helpful to hear the pros and cons of living in either area. It would be great to hear from people who live and work in Gurgaon, and also people who work in Gurgaon and commute everyday from South Delhi.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to IM. There are numerous threads dealing with this question, and a few searches will turn up lots of info. I preferred living and working in Gurgaon, simply to avoid the commute, and confined my Delhi time to weekends.

Have you ever taken that line during rush hour? It gets horribly overcrowded, I'd rather walk to work than go through that twice a day.
