Hello
I am looking to relocate to Gurgaon in a couple of months and live there with my parents. Could you please advise me of the cost of living in Gurgaon? Mainly Rs 7500 = 100 Pounds approx - rent for a 3/4 bhk apartment - Gurgaon has various options to choose from. A decent 3-4 BHK in areas like Sector 53,55,56 would be 12-18k. In gurgaon, it can range from being Rs 10k to 100k. Why dont u look up here www.magicbricks.com. Look for 100% power back-up and 24x7 water. More the facilities, higher the rent. Good to figure out a budget. - car - cost of buying one, maintenance, petrol, driver - Decent mid-sized car would be about 4500-5000 Pounds. Minimum maintenance for the first few years. Petrol is about 60 pence per liter. A decent car would give an average of 14-17 km/hr (10-12 miles per hour). Driver should be about 5000 rupess per month or more. - maid - full time - 2-3000 rupees + food + stay + clothes - groceries - That depends on your lifestyle. if you're looking at cheese and meats and packaed foods and the works. for 3 people, I would say about 10000 a month? I might be wrong. - utility bills - Depends on usage. Electricty in India is fairly cheap as long as you use basic items. You'll need air conditioning in Gurgaon so that may run your bill up. Internet, Phone, Water etc are very cheap and shouldnt be more than 2000 rupees a month. - miscellaneous - Shopping, Eating out, Buying furniture may be? Can anyone please indicate the gross salary level that I should earn that will make a comfortable living for me and my parents? Now that is a tough question. everyone has a lifestyle and what might be enough for someone may be peanuts for others. general rule of the thumb, Look at what you earn at home right now and you should look for at least a similar salary if not more. Suggest you to look on portals like Naukri.com, Monsterindia.com etc Thanks

Thanks
Thanks OS. That was very useful information. Sorry I posted this twice as I didn't get any replies when I initially posted under 'Moving to Other cities'.
