Moving to Delhi: Hello

Hi my name is Claire and my husband has the opportunity of a job in Delhi and i wondered if any one could give me a bit of advise. We have never been to India so this would be a big change for us.
We have two children one aged 6 and the other will be 2 in August, so I am keen to hear anything about schools and at what age they start.
I do not know the area in which Gary would be working yet as the details are still coming through.
Any advise would be welcome, many thanks Claire

Hi Claire and welcome to IM. I've moved your thread here so that you can get a few more replies - plus at at the bottom of the page you'll also see a number of related threads.

Start off with this thread from a lady who recently went through the whole experience of asking questions about moving to Delhi about 3-4 months ago - and recently completed a reconisance trip about 2 weeks ago. You'll probably find a number of similar questions to what you have (and maybe a few you haven't thought of yet) - not to mention a whole bunch of answers. If there is anything else after that then just ask away.

Hi Claire - my wife and I chuckled as we read over your posting. We are also contemplating a move to Delhi and have two boys - 6 and 2. We're concerned about the same things you are - schools, etc. Good luck. We should compare notes down the road. I'm hoping to make the move in September and have my wife and boys follow in January after I've found a place.
