Hi,
I moved to Delhi about 3 months ago, and am having trouble finding a decent gym close to where I live... Can someone help? I live in Nizamuddin West -- I was told there was once a very good gym in the area, but has since shut down. A couple other gyms I looked at were all the GK area, which is too far for me... Does anyone know of anything close by? Thank you for your help! Cheers, Anita |

Anita,
There is no requirement for gyms in India. It is acceptable, especially for married females, to be overweight and out of shape. |

Yes, haha.
Anita, have you searched around the site some? Gyms in Delhi get discussed from time to time. Also, if you scroll to the bottom of this page, you'll find a listing of "similar threads." Opening any of those will again feature a list of similar threads at bottom, and so on and so forth. There are a couple regarding Delhi right there.

Hi there -
Butthad - thanks for the tip, but I think I'll stick to my gym habits. ![]() Machadinha - Yes I did do a search. A lot of gyms seem to be located around the GK area (altho there's one listed in Laajpat Nagar which I'm going to try and check out). I was kinda, sorta, hoping that someone knew of a gym in Nizamuddin itself. Sigh. Thanks much anyhow... Anita =) |

How far is Def col from Nizamuddin, if Def col is doable, then I guess so would be Lajpat Nagar and Gk.
btw, is Ozone the one that is on the main road ? has a flashy setup ? |

Yes Ozone is that one....along the main road..
Nizamuddin to Def col would be the same as Lajpat (about 5 Km's) but i dont know of any proper Gym in Lajpat (only local garage one's) GK would be an additional 2 Km's plus more than the distance it would be the time. Nizamuddin to Def col is traffic light free and will only take ten minutes but Def Col to GK in itself can take upto 20 minutes thanks to the BRT corridor... |

Your nearest posh gym is in Sunder Nagar market..only 5 minutes from Niz West.
http://www.barbarianpowergym.com/ You could also try the YMCA near the railway station. Basic but cheap. |
