Great driver available in Delhi/Gurgaon

I am leaving Gurgaon at the beginning of May and would like to warmly recommend my driver Vikram to anyone who might be arriving around that time.

I got Vikram 5 months ago through a small company called Total Tours & Travels (contact person is Jitender: 9818248228). I was super happy to meet him, mainly because I’m a pretty difficult customer and had already gone through three other drivers. Not being particularly fond of being in Gurgaon, I really needed someone to make this experience less stressful for me. Vikram has been very good at that, being an exceptionally calm and responsible driver.

I’m German, and being on time for me means being at least 5 minutes early. My driver calls when he gets to my place – at least 10 minutes before the arranged time. Every day!

I don’t speak any Hindi, but his English is definitely sufficient for all daily driving tasks and phone conversations.

He also takes care of minor duties like picking up dry cleaning, recharging my phone, getting newspapers, couriering things etc. I’ve sent him through half of the country with large amounts of cash and he always came back.

He was a driver for Radisson Hotel for eight years so he knows both Gurgaon and Delhi well, and is even acquainted with the standard tourist areas in Jaipur, Agra and similar day trip destinations. He has family and a little daughter he’s really fond of somewhere in the Punjab.

One more thing – tipping. My previous drivers got really annoying after some time, demanding spare change here, the highway fee there, a small tip here etc. I agreed with Vikram’s company that I would only tip him once a month, which really takes the stress out of the thing for me and makes it cheaper in the long run. He gets an extra bit of money for dinner in case I need him after 9pm though.


Even though Vikram lives in Vasant Kunj and not Haryana, the company won’t charge you the highway fees for getting to work in the morning and back home at night in case you live in Gurgaon.

What is a reasonable price to pay for a driver? I have just moved to South Delhi and will need a driver for the commute to Gurgaon. Picking up in around 8 and leaving around 6.

Lakshmi can cook, clean, shop and babysit. She has been with us for the last 16 months.

We changed several maids until we have found this really good one for us.

I would like also, to find some nice family for our Lakshmi and our Sharma. Sharma has been with us for the last 3 years.
