Employment and Networking?
Yes, I've seen the posts before about finding a job in India.
I'm using the websites everyone has graciously listed previously... But I'm at the point where I'm grasping at straws and am looking for ANYONE to network with who may have information/toe in the door help for finding work in Delhi - my industry is somewhat specialized [electrical engineering related - large power drives not IT or comp industry related] and I've been trying on this end to get something rolling but nothing yet. My wants may be on par with needle in a haystack and I get that -I just wanted to put it out there and see if in the vast audience of IM there may be someone who may know someone etc etc etc...I'm not hell bent on a traditional hinging-on-luxury expat position either, just looking for something livable at this point due to my circumstances. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Electrical engineer..
Try the following, on their webs, then calling/ e mailing/ networking :
a.) Companies that make power generation equipment: Bharat Heavy Electricals( BHEL), Siemens, ABB,... all these companies have a big footprint in India. b.) look for other companies in power/heavy equipment : TATA Engg and Locomotive( TELCO), Larsen and Toubro( L and T), others..I heard L and T is making a big thrust into the power generation/ infrastructure area.. they just hired a ex ABB person to set up this business unit. I am sure there are others, but a search along the same lines you would use in the USA, will help.. |

Siemens and TMEIC have been doing a lot of project work in India of late but there seems to be this iron curtain between US/corporate staff and India staff. You've mentioned many of the doors I've been knocking on...[and Rockwell and Eaton and Toshiba etc etc etc].
The Indian companies listed are exactly the type of info I was looking for! Thanks! |
