Barsati

What does a barsati apartment look like? I tried googling but came up empty. Might be something I am interested in for my accomodations.

A Barsati (meaning for rains) apartment means a small rooftop room or a small apartment on the top floor of a house. It's very popular in South Delhi...

Barsati is usually a one-room apartment on the terrace with a verandah outside.

Something like this - http://www.flickr.com/photos/ndavid/3328474340/ Though I assume something in South delhi will be much fancier than this.

This another pic http://www.flickr.com/photos/vm2827/483623480/ shows the inside view of a certain barsati in Defence Colony.

Oh I can see why it is so popular. Thanks

It looks wonderful, and I LOVE that it is nice and high, I can sit out and have chai, undisturbed. 8k is my budget, so I will have to haggle but I really like the ooks of this. I wish I could see a furnished one to get a better idea. Are most of them usually kitchenette-less?

generally they dont have a kitchen. However am assuming since people give them out on rent on a standalone basis, they must provision for a small kitchen/kitchentte.
