American football in Delhi?
Anybody interested in getting a weekend / evening touch or flag game of American football going? I'm thinking a pickup game, choosing up new sides each time, would be the most fun.... Post here if you're interested and I'll set it up if enough people respond.

I have no idea how to play American football, but I have watched a few games on television. Flag is the one with those tags attached by velcro near the belt right?

Would you be interested in watching a game? I'd love to catch a game if you know where one is playing.

Futbal Americain
Yeah, flag football is the one with those silly velcro on the belt things. (Which incidentally I realize would be a stopper for anybody organizing a pickup game!). Mostly kids in America play what we call "two hand touch" if we're not playing tackle football. In other words, instead of throwing the guy to the ground, it's understood that if you can touch him with two hands at the same time he's declared "down."
RE watching football in Delhi: ESPN seems to have decided that they will no longer show NFL games in India, where replays of 1970s-era cricket matches still outperform live broadcasts of all other sports. They used to show Sunday Night football and Monday Night Football live on Monday & Tuesday morning, but the season has started and a search of the broadcast sched online indicated that the channel has given up. (Weirdly, the game is still shown in Hong Kong, China etc--maybe because there are more expats?) |

Waching it is ok--playing is another matter
I'll take frisbee golf. I prefer to keep my spinal column symmetrical. |
