Sailing in Chennai

Anybody do any sailing in Chennai? I have seen there's a sailing club (TNSA) that has some dinghies but wondered if any expats have checked it out?

I wanted to as my job brings me close to sea very often, but i do not know sailing, i did collect information from TNSA, fees are nominal according to me for utilization of facilities and equipment. you can visit their site at www.tnsa.in
I did want to learn, but unfortunately they are more inclined towards competitions than teaching. I have the Application form with me.. i can forward you that. And if you know and are willing to help me learn i would be glad to accompnay you (and yes i am not an expat)

Dingy sailing positively requires the ability to swim --- so, although I heard of this group, I have not taken it further. Also, I find sailing to race a very boring idea!

If they are more inclined to racing than teaching, it sounds as if they need reminding of their first objective:

Sailing, by the way, is a very easy thing to learn and do. Sailing well and skilfully is far from easy, and needs more than a lifetime to perfect. This is where racing comes in, as it hones the skills. But to only race....

Got a yacht?

Seriously... I'd be no teacher now, I haven't even read anything on the subject for a decade or two.
