Neighborhoods in Chennai

Hi! I'm new in Chennai and looking for a place to stay for a year. I work in Nungambakkam, so I was wondering what neighborhoods near there might be good to look at.

Also, I know that looking for a roomate on IM seems to be not allowed, but where would be a good place to look? Are flatshares common in Chennai?

checkout freeads that comes every sunday, this one lists flastshare sometimes plus covers rentals in exhaustive manner or have a look at property plus which comes with hindu on staurday.. i have never sen flatshare in that though.. online you can check sulekha and magicbricks for rentals..

Also it depends on your budget.. Nungambamkam is known to be posh area.. So if you want some suggestions nearby areas you'll have to give your budget first!

Thanks for the advice, Where can i pick up the freeads?

My budget is 10-15k/month, maybe a bit higher if its a nice place. I don't need to live in Nungambakkum, I just don't want to be too far away.

Thanks!

well for 15k you can get a semi furnished house in parts of adyar if you try hard.. its closer to beach also.. though its not exactly near to nungambakkam you can do adyar nungambakkam in max 45 mins according to me.. R.A puram is another option!

forgot to add.. you can get freeads in any newspaper shop on sunday mornings.. if you are lucky till afternoon they are available!

I guess I was expecting things to be cheaper, I can go up to 25,000 if need be (i'd prefer to be closer than 45 mins). Also do you mean 15k for hte whole apartment, or 15k per person if I were to share?

i meant for the whole flat! i think for 25k you would get a pretty good one in nungmabakkam itself! and when i say whole flat it means 2BHK with about 800 to 900sqft!
