Looking for roommates/apartments in central Chennai

Hi, I'm new to IndiaMike so please bear with me

I'm a 26-year-old American girl, just moved to Chennai to work in development finance (1-2years min) and am looking for a place to live. I would love to live with roommate/s but am having some trouble connecting with other apartment-seekers or people with open rooms in their flats.

My office is located in Nungambakkam and I am interested in living anywhere in generally central Chennai (Nungambakkam, T Nagar, Alwarpet, Mylapore, etc.) or even in Besant Nagar as I hear it's nice enough there to justify the commute. Looking in the Rs4000-10,000 (one person) price range.

I'm a fun, active, laidback roommate. I'm pretty flexible about apartments, mostly looking for a place with decent space and basic amenities on a semi-quiet street. I would also really like to send for my pet dog to have her here, so ideally the flat/roommates would be dog-friendly.

Please let me know if you are looking for a place, have a spot open, know anyone who might have a wide network to distribute this to, or have any other suggestions about how to find apartments and roommates in this city. Thanks!

Hey there,

I just moved into a place in Kottur and realized that a) utilities are still sort of expensive b) I work too much to justify having this much space c) I wouldn't mind having a roommate.

FYI, I'm a 28 year old American here on a 1 year through June '09, working in IT.

Hi all,

I have a flat in Nandanam and I am looking for a flatmate starting from August (when I get back to India)

I am doing a traineeship in Chennai as well and will stay until the end of November but i guess the flat can be rented afterwards by the other person...
