I keep hearing the music scene is busy right now, but have no idea even where to start to get correct, up-to-date info on choices/venues. Is there a reliable website that keeps track of Chennai cultural events? The Hindu just seems to report on everything that has already happened, not what's coming up in the weeks ahead.

Check out on page 3 or 4 of the Hindu. Look for the heading Cinema . Arts . Events and check out the Music Dance Drama section. Today it was about 7/8ths of p.4
Try some of the morning or afternoon concerts. They are mostly free. You won't see the big names, but it will give you a chance to get an introduction to the music. Do try more than one, though, like maybe flute, vocal, violin, veena... Otherwise www.kutcheribuzz.com has listings and articles on the season. Some places will give tomorrows listing as well. |

Dear Ravi,
Perhaps, the two girls of Australia can join us on 26th January, at 11.00 a.m. near Das Prakash. Kindly ascertain their convenience through PM. |

Hello all,
Am newly joined here so apologies for posting so late and if its already been dealt with... New Girl & Gertie, hope you both have managed to settle down. Unlike other cities everything is not very overt in Madras/Chennai - awfully low key. But you can find practically any thing out here should you care to look around. What do you want to do? http://wiki.couchsurfing.com/en/Chennai http://wikitravel.org/en/Madras can give you an idea.. apologies if its seems im plugging these links here, I'm an unashamed MADCSr! ![]() Quote:
