Welcome to Chennai Ameet, not to worry Chennai's a nice friendly place, even the much loathed Chennai weather has been nice for the past couple of days.

Abt that apartment it depends mostly on your budget, good areas in chennai wud b like Adyar, Alwarpet, Kilpauk.. but these are also the most expensive. You may have to decide on the place according to ur budget only

the prob is I am not local to Chennai and other members might give you better info..

I would advice you explore other threads as most of the questions have already been answered..

but still rather than going on MSN, please keep on posting and asking here..so that in future other people can also benefit from the same..

12K is a substantial amount, u can get good 1BD for less than that in Nungambakkam. Advance of course may vary from 6-10 mmonths depending on the owner.

I do have a brokers no. whom i used a long time ago, i'll send it to you. In additon there are also many websites that do such jobs.

I'd sugest you get here, get yourself a temp accom, and then look out..
Chennai is rather big, and you need to keep in mind the travel distance to your college.. where is it?

For 12 k, you"ll land yourself a 3 bed room apt in south chennai, which i vote to be the best place to be in! google adayar times, and look up the clasiifieds

Welcome to Chennai

As has been recommended, get yourself something temporary.

Then buy a copy of the Eicher City Map so you don't get lost, and look around.

Get The Hindu Newspaper for its Property section every Saturday.

One of your best sources of information is going to be your fellow students!
