Hey...we're coming to Chennai!!!
Good evening Chennai!!
I am an Italian girl (woman) married to a german guy that lives in germany since a 3 years. My husbandīs company offered him a great chance in Chennai and we decided to move! We have a three year old child. I have been reading a lot on this great forum and I have taken a look to all the websites/books/documentaries that I foung.... but as all the others I still have thousand of questions. We are looking for a kindergarden for our son and are not sure to want to have them in the traditional "international school". Do you have any other suggestion in the south of Chennai? We have found "parentīs choice" and "Grandmas and Grandpas", has anybody heard about them? Any recomendation? I am also looking for a job (Automotive?) but I have actually not found any interesting site for that. What about an MBA there? Is there a good one? Well....thanks for you help and looking forward in discouvering Chennai!! Elena |

South Chennai has good apartments and good kindergarden schools.
Try Hippopotamas also. There are many more ,can't remember their names though. |

Hi Elena,
Its great to know that you are relocating to Chennai. I am extending you an extra handshake as I belong to Chennai. Now about your queries there are quite a few good play schools and I outline them as under. http://www.asklaila.com 1. Kanchana Paati ( My Grandma's Place ) http://www.kanchanapaati.in/ 2. Second there is the Bambino School in RA Puram http://bambino.schoolzone.in/ 3. Patashala School in Mahalingapuram Shall let you know the contact details soon. By the way, have you decided what to reside ? because the school selection depends on the finalising the residence. Do let me know if you wish to know any other info on your move and would be happy to assist. Best Wishes, Raghu Kumar Quote:

As I was telling at the recent meetup, there are so many people who have come to Chennai, and there are also so many new members among those who were born, or have lived a long time, here.
Thus, there is no longer any need for me to always be there. I'm not a parent, so I don't have much useful to offer on this sort of subject anyway. Elejuer, welcome to the site! You will find it is a popular destination among IMers (or else IndiaMike is popular among those Chennai-bound; I don't know which!) so many of your questions, and some you haven't thought of yet, will have been answered already, as you have probably seen. |

Welcome to Chennai. Chennai has lots of automotive companies, it is also known as Detroit of India, so you can find a job easily if you have specialized skill. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automob...try_in_Chennai http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...120401094.html Doing a MBA in Chennai? The education system is very different in India most of the students finish their education in their early years, the education system is not flexible like in the west where you can go back to school whenever you like to study. If you want to do an MBA you might want to look at distance education from one of the US universities. Checkout the following links for colleges that offer MBA in Chennai http://www.indiaedu.com/chennai/mana...-colleges.html http://mbacollegesinindia.blogspot.c...n-chennai.html http://yellowpages.sulekha.com/colle...nnai/m-b-a.htm
