Hairdresser in Chennai....
Hi there,
Can any expat women recommend me a hairdresser? We're coming to Chennai and want to take the opportunity to get a much needed hair cut. Thanks, Mrs4 |

No recommendations?
I've heard of people going to incredibly expensive five-star-hotel salons, but I'd have thought that most of our lady ex-pats here wouldn't spend that much money. Ladies? |

Yes, we want to avoid super-expensive... and there must be some that someone can recommend. (Or even places to avoid!) But we need to make appts ahead of time, as we're going have a busy couple of days - which is why I need to organise it now.

Ive known several of my friends to go to Bounce and they always come out looking great. It's a little pricey though. 2500 rps for cut and dye i think.

THanks for this recommendation. I've made an appt - so fingers crossed. It isn't as expensive as all that. Rates for a cut are from 500/- up to 1600/- (for the Salon Director!). I went for something inbetween at 850/-. Yes, this may be expensive for a haircut in India... dh just paid 30/-... But then it is about a third of what I pay at home. (While dh's is much more expensive... because at home I do it for free!)
mrs4 ps and for those that need to know - it is in Ispahani Centre, Nungmbakkam High road... wherever that is! |

I used to go to either Limelite - near Anokhi on Chamiers road, or at the Spa right beside Anokhi - both were pretty reasonable, around 500rs and good cuts.

update...
Just reporting back - in case anyone is interested! - can recommend Bounce. They did a good job on both of us (one dead straight hair, and one very curly!) for 850/- each.
