English tutoring job available

Foreign High School students need tutors, weekdays, 3:45-5:45 or so(Alwarpet and Adyar, but they might be able come to your place). Most of them need essay writing skills (some are still in ESL classes, others are in regular English classes) and some need help reading skills.

Besides the mechanics of 5-paragraph western essay construction (venn diagram, mind-mapping, outlining) and grammatical structures, you need to be able to walk them through the critical thinking steps necessary to write compare/contrast, etc., essays.

Salary is about 1,200 Rs./hour, starting immediately.

Sheesh, I'm an English-speaking Brit and I never heard of some of that stuff!

They did tell us, plan your essays; and I never bothered.

Damned fancy pay: pity I don't know what a venn diagram is!

Tis overlapping things. Like two (or three) circles showing where things overlap.

I'm not being clear am I? Time for Wikipedia:
Quote:
Venn diagrams or set diagrams are diagrams that show all hypothetically possible logical relations between a finite collection of sets
Yeah. What he said.

Hold it right there, TD....

If we're going to discuss this, we get Rs1,200 an hour for it, right?

If not, we're calling a bandh.

Or a banhd, bahnd, or where-ever the wretched 'h' goes....
