Eating after 11 pm
The Sindoori Block at Apollo Hospital (Near Greams Rd.) has a 24 hour restaurant (ground floor) at very reasonable prices and includes a few international dishes.

There is another small restaurant about 100m north of Higginbothams on Anna Salai (Mount Road) that used to be open 24 hours. Not very classy and may be considered not very clean by some, but decent food for a decent price, and I never got sick eating there (I am a native though). Dunno if it's still around.
