7,000 is low these days. Rentals have caught up with the enormous rise in property prices. Not sure about apartments, but houses and land in decent central areas has gone up in value by as much as 400% in only a couple of years.
I used to stay in a nice, clean, two bedroom flat; second floor of an independent house. 60 years old, not modern, but freshly decorated and clean, for 6,000. I don't know what the current tenants pay, but if it was vacant today I'm sure it would fetch at least 10,000.
