Chrompet isn't really in Chennai; when leaving the airport you turn right instead of left!

Chennai is very big , you probably meant that Chrompet is not in Chennai Main Centre areas,, it is a suburb, and comes under Panchayat. Well we have purchased a flat and I need some place to stay for around 5-10 days to supervise the work. So my work will be in Chrompet / Hasthinapuram so I am looking for PG / Accomodation near that place. |

Look in the classified ads in The Hindu and The New Indian Express.

Even I don't actually live inChennai --- but it starts very near by. Chrompet is possibly closer to Tambaram than to Chennai; so why not say it is part of Tambaram!
But hye, it isn't important... |

True that is not important but these suburbs will be known to be a part of chennai, and not individual places, coz technically they have different panchayats, registrar offices, but that is not important, and if you ask anyone living in chennai they will consider chrompet, tambaram, and other suburbs as Chennai only, so to ease confusion I mentioned Chennai in the broad sense. ![]() |

![]() But, honestly, I got carried away by picking hairs on this... my main reason for mentioning it, which even I immediately forgot, was that you might get better answers. Mostly, "budget accommodation" enquires elicit recommendation of places like Broad Lands in Triplicane, where it is still possible to stay for not much more than a couple of hundred Rupees --- but I doubt that you would want to travel daily Triplicane/Chrompet! So, my advice is to be less "general", and seek answers for Chrompet/Tambaram. Anyway, this discussion has served to keep your thread in the public eye for a few days; traffic on IM is such that unanswered threads disappear into the past within a day or two. Sorry that, so far, we haven't been able to give any useful answers! |

I suspect that it is just a part of town that none of us happen to know, I'm afraid.

BTW you can try to get into broadlands (from what ive read at IM you may have trouble getting a room). triplicane to chrompet may be difficult on the roads but the train service is decent enough but will involve a change over between park and park town stations though. for that matter look for anywhere along the suburban route as well and close to the stations..... |

There's a couple of hotels near the airport that get mentioned.
I'm not much good on hotels in my own town, because I never have to use them. |
