Alwapert area and shopping

What is the shopping like in the Alwarpet area? I'm moving there soon and I'd like to know if it's near lots of shops. I like to shop for clothes, shoes, fabric, etc.

I believe I'll be near Chaimers and TTK road.

Thanks!
Bribit

Define huge.

Define what you want to buy!

It has some very, very nice boutique shops, and it has plenty of places to buy all the ordinary stuff of life. You'll need to go up the road a bit, and/or across to CPR Road.

It is close to Mylapore. It is not far from T Nagar. It is not far from Anna Salai. It is central to all the best Chennai shopping. Go to T Nagar for silk and fabrics

Double Woops!

I didn't notice your spelling error!

...and, would you believe, I just typed "spelling area". The strangest form of keyboard dyslexia is coming over me...

There was a festival in Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore for a week. You can get many cheap stuff from the stall set up for the festival. If you prefer boutique shops, there also some here. From Alwarpet to Mylapore is only about 3km. Maybe you wanna visit here too.
