3 BR flat in Chennai & Rental ads?
- I am moving from Bangalore to Chennai towards end of August. I am looking for a 3br flat around 2000sq.ft area near Adyar, Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur.
If anyone knows of any rentals coming in these areas, please send me an email. - Also what's the best way to find rental ads? B'lore has a weekly classifieds paper. Does Chennai have anything like that? - Is Eicher map of Chennai, good enough to find one's whereabouts? B'lore eicher map sucks and that's why I am asking. |

Have you tries searching the site?
Its true that you'd find more questions than answers, but you would have found pointers to the newspapers. Yes, the Eicher map is excellent. The only problem is the new flyovers and one-way systems that are not shown. |

Thanks for your replies. Will look up the newspapers and the free ads. Do you think 2 weeks is good enough time to find a decent 3 BR?
Also was wondering if Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in Chennai? I don't want my moving plans to be hindered due to the festivities. |

Do the following: Buy all newspapers / Freeads Sort out the area where you wish to stay Mark up the ads which you seem relevant, arrange a call taxi or two wheeler (if you like to go in sorching sun), rather than arranging autos I will say arrange a call taxi it might cost you around 1000 rs per day, but will be comfortable. Call the houseowner and speak with them, many have conditions like they give only to brahmins, or vegetarians etc etc, see which flat suits you the best, once you like a flat give 1000 rs as token advance, and immediately follow up for lease / agreement. |

purchase and rental transactions are inherently different and involve different considerations and do not take the same amount of time.... youve mentioned that you are having work dont in the flat in another thread. the renter has to find what he wants and doesnt have the luxury of putting money into a rental to change it to his liking (if he did he'd be buying one not renting). it will take time to find a suitable place unless he is lucky...

Although it is not unusual to have a place painted before moving in. I was lucky to have a more thorough renovation done of the place that I rented, although it did delay my moving in by two weeks.
