Where can I find good formal women's wear in Bangalore?
Hi,
I have been looking for good women's formal wear in Bangalore. Unfortunately most of my female colleagues wear Indian formals and haven't been of much help. I did venture into Forum but they didn't seem to have too many options. If there is a good tailor for dresses and suits, that would be much appreciated as well. Mensch |

I guess I am now in a condition to entertain you with the story of why I needed a new wardrobe... just incase people assume I moved to Bangalore without having brought my clothes here
Coming to India not anticpating what the food could..would do to my health is a gross undestatement. I guess jumping into adventure spirit in day 2 of my stay here wasn't necessarily what I would term as 'cautious' either. It has been over 3 weeks and only now is there a semblance of my stomach showing signs of recovery. I have lost (I know some women back home would envy me for this..) over 10 pounds in 3 weeks! (You see I was a small built woman to begin with, so this to me is an absolute NO-NO. Let me tell you this, it is not really a compliment when your clothes hang on you like they do on a hanger!!! Getting back to my adventures of finding a new wardrobe... After managing for two weeks with two tops, a skirt and two trousers and the whole office wondering if I really did come from a developed country ... I finally found a tailor on CMH road, Indiranagar - Kanate for those interested, has had 3 generations into the business and does a splendid job. The rates are SO much more reasonable than getting custom-made suits back home!!!!! I almost yelped out a cry of delight when I saw the price ![]() Phew! You know this place really does make you sit up and take good note of it, doesn't it? |

LOL! No I am not German...from the widy city - Chicago, but i did check out Max Muller bhavan - a friend of mine took me to the german cafe there..must say I quiet enjoyed it. I am guessing I will frequent the place often. There wasn't any festival when I was there. How do i get to know the next time they have something going on there?

The best way to stay informed about the current events is to join the mailing lists..
Max Mueller bhavan - event list http://www.goethe.de/ins/in/bag/knt/nl/enindex.htm And in case of the Alliance Francaise http://www.afindia.org/bangalore/calendar.htm Cheers... ![]() |
