Prestige Ozone?
Prestige Ozone?
I will be living in Bangalore for only about 8 months with my family. I am considering a fully furnished villa in Prestige Ozone. However since I have not yet been to Bangalore I am curious to hear what other Expats who have lived in gated communities such as Prestige Ozone (Palm Meadows) etc thought of the experience and location?
Is it too far out? Does the gated feel to exclusive or just safe and comfortable? Anyone who has lived in Prestige Ozone?
I will be working in Electronics City off hours so i will be commuting at non rush hour times.
Thanks in Advance!
John

Since nobody's replied to you John, some of it will depend on what your family is accustomed to and what they'll be doing in the day as well. I'm an expat working in e-city as well. Prestige are good builders and they make nice stuff, however Ozone is way the heck out in Whitefield. Even with the "off-hours" commute unless it's in the middle of the night there will be traffic to contend with.
Keep in mind there's lots of construction going on ( because there always is ) and because the Namma metro and a few new flyovers are coming into the picture now. You'll spend a lot of time on the road.
Personally I live in a Prestige building in Koramangala. It's a 2 Bedroom flat instead of a villa. But my family is at home, so for me it doesn't matter. My commute is 20 minutes to e-city on average via BETL flyover. Whitefield is another 1-1.5 hours or so from there depending on traffic ). Also Koramangala has great shopping and food. But it's more "city life" than "suburban life". My apartment complex is gated and it's mostly Indian folks living there ( many retirees and young couples ). It's got nice amenities like a gym, pool, atm and a grocery store inside. It's quieter ( auto engines and horns ) and the roadways are cleaner because it's gated, but I can be out the gate and on the street near a mall in 100 meters.
Hopefully you get to come and check out the places before you commit to one. Try the commute out, it can be bad when it rains, there's an accident, or construction.
Whitefield is a nice area, I looked at it too. But for me... just to far.
Good luck and welcome to Bangalore from Chicago.

Any meetups/ group travel/ get-togethers on weekends in Bangalore?
Hi,
Was wondering cos I did not see any meetups happening in Bangalore, are there any expats who travel together on weekends or have get-togethers or hobby classes, interesting discussions and similar interests? (apart from nightclubs/pubs)
Would like to know if there are any around.
Thanks,
EF

Thanks for the perspective on where to live. I looked at several places in different areas and ended up going with a place in Ozone. I am currently in Bangalore for about a week looking at housing and schools and met a co-worker who lives in Palm Meadows and it takes her 30-45 minutes to commute to Electronics City each day (by taking the back/village roads) so I think that is manageable. For me having a house, green spaces and sidewalks for the kids to ride bikes on won out as it will help ease their transition to living here. If it was just my wife and I then I would be in the City Center, or likely Koramangala to have a good commute with the flyover.
My wife and two small children are moving to Bangalore in September. We are also looking for a house in a gated community. I have been to Bangalore several times, but I need to find an agent. Can you by chance suggest a good agent?
Hi All,
If u want a house in Prestige Ozone contact rsk_87@hotmail.com. RSK is not an agent, he is an owner. Their house may be vacant if you are lucky.
Palm Meadows and Ozone are great communities. PM has a great club house and Ozone has a lot of green open space. Takes 30-45 minutes into town depending on time of day.

Hi spetr 99,
we will move from Germany to Bangalore in January with our 4 year old son and already found a villa in Prestige Ozone, however ou son will attend a very nice school in North Bangalore -Trio World, it is a bit far, ca 1 hour commute daily but we think it is worth it. we visited many schools but the only one we were impressed with was this one, very warm atmosphere, friendly, just right. If interested and if you intend to live in the North area I might suggest you have a look at this school. unfortunately I cant suggest any area to live up there, but I know there are lots of developments going on.
