Places to stay near Marathahalli?

Hi...I've just been transferred to Bangalore and my office will be near the Marathahalli Junction on Outer Ring Road. My knowledge of Bangalore is negligible...so I was hoping you guys could help me with deciding which areas to look for accommodation.

I'm looking for a place that's within 20 minutes of the office (during non-peak hours).

A good neighbourhood with restaurants and shopping close by.

My budget is up to 10,000 INR for a 1 BHK...preferably furnished or semi-furnished.

I'm a single woman so security is also important...I will be working late on most days.

There are a number of new developments in the Marathalli area, mostly apartment buildings. There are some restaurants close by, but I'm not really sure it's a fun place to live. I think Indiranagar might suit you a lot better, although it's slightly further away. I live on Airport Road mid-way between Maratahalli and Indiranagar and it takes me about 30 minutes (moderate traffic) to reach my office (Outer Ring Road).
