Hello,
thanks for visiting this post i would like to know how an afghan (of course non-indain) would fit to live in banglore whit his family?? i work from home i have my own internet earning source and i earn like 2000 USD per month, i am living in delhi at the moment and its kind of a big problem for me. until now i have indain rashan card + indian driving license + indian voters ID + indians PAN CARD + my 3 Bank accounts ICICI HDFC and CITI BANK. i know with all those i should have any problem but still my language is not at any form like an indian when i speak my friends are laughing at me, my family members are all speaking fluent hindi but we are white people and i suppose there will be problems? right? or you can suggest me any other state with a good living standards where we would fit just into the sociaty. i hope it all make sense because this is my first post on this post. why not?
There's definitely a lack of Afghani population in Bangalore. & if you're in the restaurant biz even more so. We have iranians, palestinians and pakistanis in Bangalore, so don't worry. The police still arrest people at random here, so the discrimination should be about the same. Not with guns though like in Delhi. A couple of incidents related to Pakistani chaps in Bangalore has made the police a little jittery, so make sure your paperwork is ALWAYS in order. Expensive. polluted. Winter is milder but rainier. Good cosmopolitan crowd. Go for it.

thank you for the reply it made me feel better,
since its like 4 years i am living in india over all, first delhi then haryana then back to delhi and now trying to come to banglore. ok paper works i have a refugee certificate from UNHCR and also my indian documents like RASHAN CARD DRIVING LICNSE PAN CARD 3 INDIAN BANK ACCOUNTS ICICI - CITI _ HDFC BANK ACCOUNT ALL WITH CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS MY PHOTOS PRINTED ON IT. so i understand with having that much indian orignal documents you don't have a problem living in indian ONLY if you speak PURE hindi and there is the problem i can't speak good hindi every body can sense my outsider personality at first talk, however i speak good english but still sounds outsider. and thats what it makes it hard for us to live here too IN DELHI. so i am trying to figure out a better place where people is a litter developed and not walking with guns like in delhi. |

English, not Hindi, is the primary language of Bangalore, (as is Tamil, Kannada, and Telegu)so your problems with Hindi will not affect you there.
Much depends on where you live. In middle-class BLR, it is very tolerant. In the poorer, communalized sections, especially around Shivajinagar, some slight problems may arise from time to time. In general, the kind of tensions you find in the north are not present. Welcome to the South ![]()

I thought your income was USD 2000.00 which translates to INR 88,000.00 per maonth. That is more than enough for a family of 6 to live comfotably. Bangalore is very cosmopolitan and if you speak English your Hindi will not be a handicap at all. The documents you have are more than enough to satisfy anyone of your legal entity in India. You are all set. You will enjoy Bangalore, trust me !! Welcome to Bangalore.

Since BLR has horrible traffic and no rapid transit, I suggest you find a place near your work and the schools your kids will want to be in.

Thanks,
i have a feeling like i will be moving like in 2 next months. well i have an income of 2,000 USD. but i wanted to know if half of that is enough for a family of 6 so with other half i could hire some IT persons because i would like to have a group of IT professionals like PHP PROGRAMMERS and internet web site designers so i can establish an office in Bangalore. Right now i don't have an office because i work from Home but in near future i will need an office with some employees for above mentioned purpose. So agian. BLR is not the right place for us? where else you guys can suggest? for an easy living with nice surroundings. and how about the security of Bangalore is it better than delhi? |

There's a whole section of East BLR that is devoted to tech stuff, I forget what it's called. It looks the part- all glossy glass facaded hi-rises and such. Prolly somewhere in that area is where a good location might be.

I would advise a visit to Bangalore first to check it out; culturally it will be different from Delhi, and your previous experience of India seems to be all in the north. Even though you don't seem too comfortable with Delhi, it has a much larger percentage of foreigners, including Afghans and Iranians, than the south, and you may be used to that. Or maybe you would prefer Bangalore for these same reasons.
Bad Hindi... hell, a lot of people in the south speak bad Hindi, or not at all! And in Bangalore, as many have said, that won't be an issue. |
