Kannada tutors?

Hi there,

Has anyone had any experience with Bangalore tutors or a class for learning Kannada? Although it would be a bonus to be able to read the script, I'm mostly interested in saying the basics. . . I haven't picked up much on my own, sadly.

Why dont you try the local scool nearby? They'd be able to help and I'm pretty sure they's be flexible with the timings. I'm sure you're not trying to get certified in Kannada and all that.

See, I've been here 10 years and I've not been arsed enough to learn the language though the similiarities with Tamil my native tongue gets things across. Or even worse, I make do with Tamil much to the chagrin of the local Kannadiga crowd.

Where do you stay in Bangalore?

Hmm, good idea. I'll check w/ some schools. Yeah, I'm just looking for some basic Kannada -- I think that certification would be a *bit* beyond my reach at the moment.

I'm in the Cantonment, nr. Indian Express, and there are definitely lots of schools to choose from here.

Speaking of Tamil, one of the shopkeepers on MG Road said that he spoke more Tamil than Kannada w/ the customers there . . . .

I'm currently studying Hindi with someone from School of Languages.
