House in B'lore

This is for a friend in Bangalore, whose landlady died and the house they've been in for years has been sold. They are in a great rush to move, and here's what they are looking for. If you know of such a place, please let me know (PM is fine) and I will put Atul in touch with you.

Quote:
An independent house, with a big garden, a lot of space, good ventilation and location in Sanjaynagar or Dollars Colony are our primary requirements. We need at least three decently sized bedrooms and at least one area that I can make my studio. Plus parking place.

We are NOT looking for one of those ghastly flat concrete blocks, with 3 feet x 6 feet "garden space", that are so common around here.

We will need the place for about 2-3 years at the most, since we have a very nice plot of land in the north of Bangalore where we would like to build soon (that will take about 15-18 months from the time we start).

Sorry WWUSA..I dont have good news..

Its a bit too specific needs that he has and just from knowing the city it would be really difficult for someone to suggest of help him. His best bet would be a real estate agent in those areas to give him some direct deals.

Does The Hindu have a Bangalore edition?

If so, the Property section is published every Saturday.

wonderwoman, if your friend is a serious buyer, I can put her/him in touch with some people who might be able to help (for a comission). However, a house as described will cost between 2-4crores( $500K - $1M ), may be more. Is that within their price range?

Thanks for the replies.

They are not looking to buy, but to rent for around 3 years, while they build a home on land they own somewhere in the area.

Atul says he's tried some of the agencies, like magicbricks.com, and says they are trying to rent cheap places for huge amounts of money. I'm not there, of course, so can't say.

Ah, and they really need that yard, for two large German Shepherd dogs. And for Shuba to garden...she'll go nuts if she can't have plants.

I wish I could be more help to them ... but at least a lot of folks have seen the message -- and maybe if you hear of something, you'll PM me and I'll pass it on!

Online quotes are sometimes 20/25% higher than market price.

Very true. In Goa I have in fact come across quotes which have been 50% higher than the prevailing market prices.
