crvlvr: thnx for the link. Very usefull

In spain I usually ride a 125cc scooter. I wear suit and tie. Would the clothes reach office untouched or they woul turn greyish? . That bad is the pollution?- Actually bangalore looks quite green from the satellite.

PS: It´s true every bar/disco closes at 11pm? ....what the ppl do after that?

If you travel by a scooter or motorcycle anywhere in a metropolitian city in India to work, unless the ride is very short, you will be grimy or wet or sweaty ... or all of the above.. by the time you reach.

Shirt collars, cuffs are the first to show.

A suit? Not recommended.

I seen only worse pollution in Delhi during the winter before they introduced CNG and in Chengdu (China). I remember if we spent a couple of hours in town we would both have headaches and stinging eyes.

Obviously we were totally unsuitable for city life. .

I've lived in Bangalore for about 18 months and haven't found the air quality horrible. Certainly on the road you may get a little grimy from the immediately nearby exhaust, and you'll definitely get sweaty. And very few men wear suits and ties on a daily basis in India -- too hot.

Re bars/clubs. Yes, nearby all bars and clubs close by 11 or 11:30. Those that get special "dispensation" may stay open later. I think what most people do after that is go home to sleep, although of course people have private parties too. India's not a late-night culture as much of Spain is.

I might be working at Woockhardt hospital. Can you suggest a place to live within walking distance that might perhaps be sorta' quiet at night?

Hi, I might be moving to Bangalore. I looked up the weather and it seemed to be quite mild and temperate. Was that not your experience? Do you have a suggestion on where to live if working at Woockhardt hospital? Maybe sorta' a quiet place! Thx

Donna,
There seem to be two Wockhardt locations - Cunningham road and Banerghatta road. They are quite far apart, do you know where you will be located?
