Prepaid UK debit/credit cards

The past two years when I've arrived home my bank has contacted me and said there may be attempted fraudulent use of my card. This has resulted in cancellation and the inconvenience of waiting for a new one.
This year I'm thinking of taking TC's (as usual)and a prepaid card. Having Googled it the results are overwhelming!
So! Whilst I'm sorting it out and comparing things I wondered if anyone could suggest one that has been easy to use and easy for people at home to top up for them?
Also having always been a Visa user I've never really noticed if Mastercard is as widely accepted. Is it? On the same note there are lots of Visa Electron cards available. The experts (people in the pub last night!) said that some of them have trouble using that in the UK!
Confusion abounds! Slightly OT I'm also going through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand so it needs to work there too.
Any suggestions friends?

Some businesses hate these cards since there is no address information available in many of these cards. Not good in certain situations. Specially when you happen to regularly run a tab at the bar

Here is the comparison chart of most UK based prepaid cards.

I never use my visa swedbank-card in pub or shops, only in the ATM's, i can tell about Vietnam, my cards work in all ATM's there,
and strange i tap in the wrong code many tines (i have 2 exactly same cards, different codes), i get my card back and i try again and many times (thinking something wrong with the ATM, i did'nt figure that i use the wrong card), when i arrive back to sweden the ATM take that card.
All pincode error in Vietnam was registered in Sweden, Vietnam don't care, they like me to take out money to spend.

now i got one moore ICA bank card, with no chip, they take no charges for ATM's around the world, my 3'rd safety-card.

I heard the pre-paid cards were a good idea as the charges were less than a lot of bank/credit cards and there was decent protection if you lost them.

Was trying to apply for one but can only load it with Euros or Dollas - does anyone know if either would be better for use in India??

Blackcat I settled for a cashplus mastercard. You can load it in sterling and it seems easy for others to top up for you when away.
go to www.mycashplus.co.uk

I bank with Barclays and us a Barclays travel card (VISA) I have used it in both GOA, Delhi and further north. You can get them loaded with either sterling, dollar, or Euro. I have also loaded the card several times while I have been away. You can even get your PIN read out to you after answering a load of security questions. I presume most banks have similar cards.
