mobile service in Ladak

i have a reliance postpaid service, will it work in leh? it did not in 2006. does prepaid BSNL numbers work there?

In the last couple of months, Reliance has put up their towers in Ladakh. But I doubt if the network is fully functional as yet.

BSNL prepaid numbers work, but not the ones issued outside J&K, as they do not offer national roaming.
BSNL post paid connections are fully functional.

why don't you call reliance customer care for definite answer ?

I was there few days back and my cellphone showed only 3 networks (in Leh) Airtel, Aircel and BSNL. So if you are talking about Reliance GSM, then it was not there, CDMA I highly doubt it.

And yes, only postpaid connections (non J&K) work there.

PS : Another possibility is if your connection roams on any of the above mentioned ones. I have an Idea and it roams on Aircel.

I did call reliance customer care and they mumbled name of only 2 towns of J& K where they claim their network exists. I have a Reliance CDMA so no way it is going to work in Leh.

so a postpaid airtel /aircell should work in leh.
