Maximum Rupee Withdrawal From an ATM?

Can anyone tell me what is the maximum that can be withdrawn from an ATM in one transaction or in 24 hrs please.

It also depends on your home bank's limit. You won't get Rs20,000 out of an Indian machine if your bank limit is £200.

I see, so whatever your'e allowed in the uk the same equivilant applies.

Not exactly: the maximum amount would be the the lower of the the home or local bank's maximum. The upper limit on ICICI bank's machines is rp25,000 which is somewhat lower than my home bank's CDN $800 for example.

Another caveat: if the ATM is running low on funds at the time, it might set a lower amount.
