| few questions... pls.... Hi, My name is mira, I'm 33 women from Israel. I'm planning travel to India alone for the first time at 02-03-04/2010. My travel-routed is: Bombay – Rrajasthan – Delhi – Agra – Varanasi – Delhi – and at the end – north India ( Amritsar, Shimla, Manali, Dharamsala , Ladakh – Kashmir ). 1.I would like to know if my plan is practicable regarding to the weather? 2.Is 1500$ per month is enough for stay : hotels and guesthouses – not too expensive – neither cheap ), 3-4 domestic flights, trains at AC1/AC2 classes, restaurants etc. 3.I have a serious cockroach pobia – am I gone bump into them at the train- buses toilets? Etc. 4.I guess that the public toilets are very nasty – what and where else should I go – in the middle of the day (in the markets, temples, etc.) . I'll appreciate your help, any tips accepted. Thank you, mira Last edited by nayan; Sep 14th, 2009 at 20:58.. Reason: Removed bold font |

| 1. Yes weather wise it's OK. From April it will start warming up, so Keep Shimla, Manali, Dharamsala , Ladakh – Kashmir for April. 2. US$ 1500 per month should be OK. Cut flights and travel by train. 3. I have seen Cockroach in Indian trains only once and the fun is that it was in highest class (1AC) in one of the top most trains Sealdah - Delhi Rajdhani, probably because the compartment was carpeted. But never in II AC or III AC. If you are too much paranoid you can buy locally available insect repellent and spray it around your berth. 4. Now, Public toilets are an issue. But, you may use toilets in Cafe, Restaurant, Malls etc....

| Not all public toilets are very nasty; some are fine ...and some are really, really disgusting! A popular topic here on IndiaMike (welcome to the site); you'll find lots of toilet information, some of it serious! |
