Cash point just kept saying enter smaller amount? Can I get a cash advance on c/c

Helloooo,

I just went to a cash point in Paharganj and it said maximum withdrawal was 10000 rupees, i asked for 2000 then it said enter smaller amount so i put in 1000 then 500 before giving up. It is a credit card (mastercard) and i know I have over 1000 gbp available on it. Why would the machine say this, was it out of money? Also do you know if it is possible just to go to a travel money place and get rupees using my credit card rather than using atm?

Hi Anna,

Why don't you just try another ATM from a different bank? I sometimes have to go to more than one one myself when I want to withdraw cash from my foreign account and one happens to give a ridiculous response. Banks will advance funds on your credit card (as long as they are members of Visa or MasterCard) but their fees are high. Good luck!

You should simply walk ahead to another ATM.
