About Me:
I'm in my forties and not as fit and healthy as I used to be. Always enjoyed travelling. Mis-spent my youth in Greece and Europe before discovering India in 1993. I've done two six month+ trips in 2000 and 2003 and several shorter 3 week breaks. I am planning my next trip, 6 - 8 weeks in and out of Mumbai in Dec/Jan 08-09.

Interests:
People - locals and other travellers. Language and customs - I get by in a few European languages, and would like to learn some conversational Hindi. Food, cooking and markets - I used to be a chef. Photography - although I hate the amount of kit this generates when travelling.

Occupation:

Guilty Pleasure:
Spending the occasional night in Heritage Hotels, Maharajahs palaces and other luxurious or quirky accommodation that would cost a fortune back home.
|
Favorite Movies:
Not a big movie fan.
|
Favorite Music:
I grew up on soul, funk, reggae, motown etc, so that is still special.

Just finished A River Sutra by Gita Mehta. Very nice read - reminded me of stuff by RK Narayan, which I also enjoy.
