I will strive to garner support for conservation of the last tracts of wilderness and wildlife through articles, personal experiences and wildlife photographs. These articles, photographs and personal experiences will help in increasing our understanding of animal behaviour. I am passionate about the wildlife photography. My passion and love for my subject makes me persevere and strive that much harder to establish an unwritten bond with my subjects. I believe that logic and reason are not enough to stir us into taking action to preserve our environment.
My journey to become a wildlife photographer was born out of a love and fascination of the natural world from a young age upon receiving my first wildlife book called The Hamlyn Children's Animal World. This was a 6th birthday present from my mother and started my love and fascination for the natural world. I use the medium of photography as a method to capture the beautiful things I witness in nature, placing a frame around something I have seen, letting the image convey the true beauty of that moment in time, that my words could never describe. My representation of this world is my interest for creating a unique and artistic reflection of what I see and my images are simplified visions of this seen through my eyes, with the emphasis on composition, lighting and colour at the very heart of each picture, capturing their beauty, fascination and graceful expression with each image.
My images represent an event that occurred in the wild something that I witnessed and recorded with my camera. My skill lies in interpreting and presenting this in a way that invokes beauty, mood and emotion with each moment captured.
I started photography on wildlife and natural areas in 1988 with a Hotshot camera. Currently using Canon's professional Digital SLR camera EOS 1000D and a host of lenses like Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM & Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6.
