If open during your time of visit (most probably it will reopen on 1 st November) then Kazirnaga is a must visit place for wildlife.

For Kaziranga Wildgrass is good. Good guides & drivers. You can reach Kaziranga by bus from Guwahati. Also consider Majuli Island & Gibbon sanctuary near Jorhat.

I understand the Kaziranga opens on 1 st November
,and I have liked WildGrass although there is no website booking will have to be done on phone.
Can any one guide me on the orchid flowering time in Arunachal Pradesh?
Need help on Meghalaya destinations too.

Nature.I want to look at the famous root bridge,do a light trek, visit one of the caves and stay at a scenic spot for a day, just doing nothing. Will like to see cherraponji.I saw your reference in one of the posts of North East.Great interacting with you.Since I am planning for November I have enough time, and I have kept aside 15 days which seems ok to me.I am not really a mad rushing traveller I want to enjoy North East.

@ Jathavale...
15 days is wonderful. Remember to keep atleast 6-7 days for Meghalaya. You sort out your other places to see, then you can get back to me and I will definitely help you with Meghalaya.

Having spent my childhood in Shillong, from what you have written hereinabove regarding what you are looking for in your Shillong visit, I can vouch that you'll crave to come back to Shillong again next year or whenever it may be possible for you.Long treks towards Upper Shillong would be more joyous and enjoyable perhaps, especially if you know the short-cut routes. Well, apart from the main city, everything else is scenic in Shillong.......the small hillocks really give a lovely background to the settings. Do view my other posts on Shillong before you finalize your itinerary, and feel free to ask me your queries, though I haven't had the opportunity to go back to my roots for a very very long time.
And BTW, November may be a tad late for your visit as the severe winters would almost catch-up with you. October may be just perfect, as the flowering season would be in bloom.
