Want to Marry a Bangladeshi Girl

Hello to all,

My Girlfriend is from Bangladesh and I am from India. She is Muslim and I am Hindu. I read the majarity of the old post and found out that in special marrage registration act the marrage is possible. But my biggest concern is her limited validity of visa. Maybe she will get the 3 monts travel visa. I learned that Bangladeshi citizen is not eligible for PIO card.

1. So my question is If PIO card will not issued to her then what is the other alternative.
2. after marrage Is she eligable of Indian citizen ship?

I am very confused right now. Many people suggest so many things but there were no perfect solution.

1. As a Spouse of an Indian, she will get a X visa. Yes, she won't get a PIO. But nothing tried, nothing gained. So try after one year of marriage.

2. Indian Citizenship - After 12 years of stay in the country. (May be less in case of marriage)

Get her here on a Tourist Visa, Get married under Special Marriage Act, apply for issue of/converting Tourist Visa to X visa, Register her at FRO/FRRO, live happily. Renew X-Visa in time every time.

Is X Visa (I like to know what is X Visa) issued instantly? Because her travel Visa will be 3 months only.

Well, I don't know how many things happens "instantly" in India.

Agree, nothing happens instantly at least in these matters anywhere, not just in India.

Get married, get the marriage registered at the Registrar if its not under SMA, then apply for X visa. The 3 months should be more than enough. You can apply/give notice for marriage under SMA even before she is here.

Here is the little update. I already talked to marriage register and she said it will be treated nicely. But right now I am worried about another thing. In Indian visa registration form my GF needs to submit the employers NOC. But she is unemployed. This situation is little confusing, is there anyone knows about anything. I think this is a very common problem and there must be solution.

Where in BD is she located ? Which center will process her visa ? As I understand, there are Visa centers that process applications in conjuncture with local bank & Indian Mission in BD.

She is located in Dhaka, And there for his IVAC center is either Gulshan or Motijheel. But what she is suppose to submit if she is unemplyed.

Hi,one of my hindu friend who came from bangledesh, completed his graduation course in india with student visa,after compleating the course he got job & had tried to get citizenship throgh ligal procedure, but unfortunutly he cheated by the laywer & visa also had got expired. as he was doing job, then left that case & kept doing that job without any visa since 2008. now its almost 4yrs over & totally he is staying in india almost 9yrs he has all the indian legal documents except 10th & 12th certificate. now he is planning to get indian citizenship through marriage(to marry a indian hindu girl). is there any legal way to get indian citizenship for him.

India does not give citizenship to people of the subcontinent. Any chance he had of getting some sort of long term residency have been effectively killed by his long term overstay. Marriage to a Indian citizen will not make it any easier or possible. Would suggest not to go the marriage way as it is more likely to end up in physical separation due to the overstay.

He is likely to be deported the moment he is found to be overstaying.
