Documents needed to marry an Indian?
as Nick advised and as we know officials here in India and Indian Officials in other countries, never know what they will ask for.

Ok I'll try to get the certificate then. But it's strange that they wanted to see your degree cert too! They probably thought it might contain your date of birth, since that's what they probably wanted to confirm. In India, apparently school-passing certificates contain DOB. But I studied abroad, where school and university certificates do not contain DOB. Will need some other proof of DOB (I hope passport will do).
