Imphal in October 2012

I have planned to visit Imphal this year ...as last year i visited Arunachal and in love with the beauty of the hills of North-East..I cont. my N-E expedition with Manipur this time....
I have planned my tour itinerary as follows :
day-1 : reach Imphal by flight @ afternoon
day-2 : local city sightseeing
day-3 : Loktak lake and Keibul Lahmjao park and Moirang
day-4 : a visit to Tamu, myanmar via Moreh border
day-5 : visit to Urkhul/ Andro
so this is my plan....
I have few quaries...if someone know about this and help me..that will be great....
1>what are the rate of car rental??as I am going alone, a small car will be alright, as Moreh, Urkhul as well as Loktatk are a distance place, what will be the approx car rent for these tours?
2> I have heard about hotel classic, but it is a bit costly..are there some standard hotel within range rs 1000 per day??plz provide contact no. if possible
3> some political disturbance have been heard about the place...is it safe now to travel alone to the above mentioned place????
4> how is the experience of travelloing to tribal villege like urkhul/Andro...do they like our visit??they welcome the visitors or get disturbed by us???I am very much cameraholic...does they object to take snap...or some other objection to photography to other place???
5> is it worth to visit Tamu???? can we cross the border to Myanmar??is the passport or other permit reqired??
6>what is the best mode to explore Keibul Lahmjao national park?? by walk or by car..or by boating??
any info regarding my queries are welcomed...if some other imp. info provided..I will be greatfull

I have it on good authority that the Hotel Classic in Imphal is a reliable choice.

Micah's blog is a amazing for info on NE. He has travelled extensively there including Manipur. I have seen this info on his IM threads too. I probably will want to see the places he has listed in there. Wonder how safe it is now to travel to those places? i.e. Imphal, Loktal Lake, Ukhrul, Moreh etc.

Its pretty safe to visit. No incidents of targetting civilians have come to notice. However, be upto date of the political situation. Kukis are planning a blockade. Although its on Imphal-Dimapur road but things might turn ugly..in the sense that one might get stuck up. Anymore questions you can ask.
