Had a good "Tadoba" trip
|
Hi All,
This saturday I am planning to go Trambakeshwar and Bhimashankar from Mumbai. Is it possible to cover both temples in one day? Considering Shravan Mas will it be much crowded or not? From mumbai is there in road which directly goto Trimbakeshwar from NH3, I do not want to goto Nashik. Which rout should I use to goto Bhimashankar from Trambkeshar? I am aware of two, 1) Map my india suggesting below route, but I have doubt on this route. http://maps.mapmyindia.com/?where=from:Trambakeshwar%20to :Bhimashankar&q=search 2) Trimbakeshwar to Goti Budruk to Rajpur to Otur to Junnar to Ghodegaon to Bhimashankar. I am planing to leave at 6 in the morning as my parents are coming @ 5 in the morning. I am avoiding to travel on Sunday to avoid rush and long Mandir Que. Any suggestions, please give me urgently. Regards Rushi |

Hello
Hi Rushi,
As you have mentioned the route via ghoti rajur is the only pratical way to reach bhimashankar. According to me, if you are planning to do both trimbak and bhimashankar in one day..it will be very hectic. Also you should expect rush at both the places due to Shravan. Regards, Yogesh

Hi Yogesh,
Thank you for your reply, I know my journey will be hectic, do you think because of Saturday also Rush would be there. Any one knows, What is current Road Condition on Goti - Rajur - Junar, two weeks back I was travling to Harishchandragadh from Malshej via [Pimpalgaon-Joga Dam], that entier stratch of 7 KMS was worst road that I have ever seen. I know its approach roadh and Rajur - Junar is a state highway and will be in better condition. What do you think, should I go first to Bhimashankar and then goto Trimbakeshwar or vice-versa to avoid road trafic. Regards Rushi |

Rushi, if you want to avoid Nashik, take the left turn on NH-3 to Trimbak shortly after Igatpuri - ask anyone, it is signposted. You will have to come back from Trimbak on this same road and take the road opposite to Ghoti Rajur Brahmanwada Otur Junnar Bhimashankar. We did this stretch from Bhandardara to Otur a couple of years ago, very scenic but terrible condition. I wonder how you will manage both places in one day - most tiring and unrealistic. Added to that, the Shravan crowd! Well, I suppose the only way to beat the traffic is to start as early as possible.
Do post your trip report.

Hi Snonymous,
I believe you are refering to route from Igatpuri - Waki - Vaitarana Dam - Khodala - Torangaon - Trimbakeshwar. What will be the distance, taking this route will really help to cut my journey. I know this will me more scenaric and will get chance to pass Brhamagiri. Mumbai to Trimbakeshwar via Nasik is taking 180 + 30 = 210 KMs. I believe Bhandardhara to Otur stretch would be in good condition but do not know. Are you aware of Bhimashankar - Karjat - Panvel road, is it in condition to drive by my own. Regards Rushi |

No need to go to Khodala at all, which would be a left turn at Zalki. From Upper Vaitarna the road goes directly to Trimbakeshwar. I dont know the road condition now, went that side last in 2007 - but the traffic is less. Check any map book or do a distance calculation on Google Earth where these routes are easily visible. I have not heard of any motorable route from Bhimashankar to Karjat, I know there is a trekking route - bridle path from Bhimashankar via Khandas to Karjat. Maybe there is some newly opened up road. From Karjat to Panvel, there is of course a well known route via Chowk junction. The regular route from B is via Manchar or Rajgurunagar to Chakan then from there towards Mumbai or Pune. |

Rushi, it just struck me that it may be a lot faster for you to come from Trimbak back to NH3, go towards Shahapur and there is a left turn on NH3 just before Shahapur which goes to Murbad - and there you will join the state highway via Malshej - then to Junnar and Bhimashankar. Im sure this would be much faster than via Rajur and Otur.

Hi Snonymous,
Thank you for this concern, actualy I thought about this route, but I would like to take halt for 30 minutes near Randha Fall (Bhadardhara), I do not have time otherwise I would like to stay overnight at Bhandardhara. I planned and Scheduled my trip. We will leave Mumbai Sharp at 6 in the morning from Malad. Expecting to reach Shahpur BTC (Bhagat Tarachand) around 7:30, will halt for 10 minutes, then will start journey for Ghoti, expecting to reach by 8:30 then will take Left turn for Vaitarna via Brahmagiri and AnjaniParvat I am expecting to reach Trimak by 10-10:30 AM. We will spend 3-4 hours (Including Darshan and Que and rest in Trimbakshwar), will leave for Bhandardhara around 2:00 and Expecting to reach by 3:30 PM. [In return I am thinking to choose via Nasik, subject to our expierece on off-beat route, ie. via Vaitarna]. Then will leave for Bhimashankar and expecting to reach by 5:00 PM, I believe by this time everyone might have complited Darshan and there will be less que/crowed. If we will able to complete darshan by 6:00 then I will enquire for Newly developed road (Bhimashankar - Karjat), as dark is coming early in Hilly/Ghat region. If this route is there then we just need to cover 120 KMs to reach at my home. If route is not there then I will take normal route (Bhimashankar - Manchar - Talegaon - Lonavala - Mumbai). I know my journey would be hectic but because of less time I do not have any options. If you or anyone has any suggestion or comments do post it. I will update all about my expierence once I will complete my trip. Regards Rushi |

The Randha falls are lovely.
We ate at Bhagat Tarachand last week, very tasty food. Bhimashankar to Rajgurunagar [old name Khed] is closer than Bhimashankar to Manchar. Very scenic route with lots of waterfalls and traversing a reservoir. Well, all the best, have a safe and successful [if hectic] journey. |

Thank you for informing about Bhimashankar to Rajgurunagar route, I will my plan.
Try out speciality of BTG Roti(a very special thin roti) and Butter Milk. I love food of BTG it has only three branches, while coming from Nasik sie I will definately wish to eat at Shahpur BTG, and coming from Panvel side I wish to eath at Vashi BTG. Third one is in town, near Paidhuni. I will not direct this thread to some other topic. I am very excited about my trip. Going with Two Camera fully loaded with batteries and 1 GB Card each. ![]() Just one of my friend gave me a concern to keep check my car, as Igatputi - Vaitarana - Trimak route is very lonely and I will not find any help for 18-20 KMs in entier stretch. Hi All,
Thank you for your support to made my trip as most scenaric and memorable one. I was almost there near Bhimashankar but was not able to go as it was very late, 7 PM .My feeling is we can complete both Trimbakeshwar and Bhimashankar in single trip subject to you have to strict with time. Originaly I have scheduled it to start my trip sharp by 6 AM in the morning but we could able to start at 7 AM resulted into delay to reach Trimbak, we also faced some local (because of Saturday) as well as highway trafic. We went to Trimbak from off-beat route, which is more scenaric and a shortcut, it reduced our traveling time by 45 to 50 minutes and by 40 KMs. Goti - Vaitarna - Vadawale - Trimbak rout is about 40 KMs and it took 50 minutes and I drove my car of an average 40-70 KMs speed and road is in good condition. We reached Trimbak sharply by 11:50 (we stayed at few places to took photos and rest) Because of Shravan, crowed was there at Trimbak but their management is good our Number came in 1.5 hours. Without taking rest we continued our journey for Bhandardara. It was almost 2 PM we reached back to ghoti by 3 PM. I missed out turn for Bhandardara and stuck in Ghoti village trafic, it almost took 25 minutes to reach Ghoti Station Road and Ghoti crossing. We reached Bhandardara by 4:30 which is 40 KMs from Ghoti. (Be ready with tough driving on this route, road are not good and very narrow, traveling bus/jeep forced you to push on side way). I was tired by now and decided to take rest at Arthur Lake. We thought to spend night over there and inquired about accomodation but all resorts were full. We took some photos and started journey for Rajur. Because of of lack of water/rain, Umbrela fall was not functioning. On the way to Kotul (Rajur - Ankola Road), we stayed at Randha Fall, a very good place. It was already 6 PM. After that I have started my journey again at constant speed of 50 KMs and take right turn at Kotul. We reached Brahmanwasa by 6:50 and reached Otur by 7:15. We still have to cover 100 KMs to goto Bhimashankar but we have decided to go back to Mumbai. We took little rest and I inquired to a police officer about road Safety on Malshej - Murbad Road. (I heard about some weird incident about robary at Naneghat to Murbad region) He told us that his petroling car is leaving in 5 minutes so We can follow them and I did that. We did not halt any fall on Malshej, but sound and view of fall in the night was fantastic. At Murbad we left Petroling Car and continued our journey for Mumbai, we reached at thane by 10:15 and faced trafic near Tinhath Naka. We reached Fountain Hotel by 11:15, we took our dinner at Kansar (Kathiyawadi Thali). We reached at Malad our home by 12:15. It was a great expierence, please see some photos. I will upload some more photos in photos section. Regards Rushi |

Going to Trimbak it is good idea to go via Vaitarna, but going to Shirdi from Trimbak, I would suggest you to use Trimbak-Nasik-Shirdi route. as road condition is good and road are wider.
Yes, If you want to stay at Bhandardara then you can use Goti-Bhandardara-Rajur-Apatephata-Shirdi route. Regards Rushi |
