Kashid - Kasihd Beach Resort or Prakruti Beach Resort.

I found Prakruti far better compared to both but also more costlier.

Not sure about Murud other than the Sailing Club House which only members have access too.

There are few pvt guest houses also...

Cheers

What is your budget - Both Prakruti and Kashid Beach are a bit expensive over 3K a night. If you are looking at cheaper options there are a lot of families offering good bed and breakfast options

accomodation around Murud & Kashid

Is it thinkable to find some accomodation in this area in the beginning of April for max 950 RS per night (double, AC is not a must)? Maybe some home stay etc?

Try this no 91-2144-278525 of Deepak Khopkar. He has a small farm in which he has rooms with attached bath/WC - or should I say en-suite as the europeans do :-)

Good place, no AC Summers will see power cuts between 4-8 hrs a day.

I have been Kashid beach an stayed in this pvt bunglow of this person who offers the rooms in this bunglow for nominal of RS.600 a day, the bunglow is just 5 minutes away from Kashid beach. 6 to 5 people can easily stay in those rooms but you need to book it in advance a day before you go there. The rooms are basic with bed and bathrooms in the room you can take extra bedsheets if you want but for lunch and dinner you have to look outside however u can order lunch from the local people how provide local food there.
You can contact Mr. Vijay Bhave at these numbers (95-2141)232130,
(95-22)25404347 and (95-2141)232075.

Yes it is close to Phansad - provided you have your own vehicle as the connecting options are bad. You can reach Phansad either via Alibuag, Revdanda, Kashid phansad or from Roha take the state highway to murud and then reach phansad. Kashid route is more scenic but too much traffic at Revdanda; Roha route is really lonely with hardly any traffic

Thanks Xiaojie & Spice Trekker
Saw the map on that blog. Looks like its about 3hrs from Mumbai, given the time it takes to get out of the city limits. Went to Kolad once, it took a good 3 hrs even though we left Mumbai at 0630. The traffic was bad on the Goa road upto and beyond Nagothane. Phansad is supposed to have a good variety of butterflies and a large number of Giant squirrels.
