Thanks
I would like to understand if Lonar can be clubbed practically n two days with Parli Vaijanth or Aunda Nagnath or both. If possible with Road directions. This being interior part not many options would not be available for spending the night. Any first hand experience will a great help me framing up my itinerary. |

Finally we were able to make the trip.
D1 Pune to Lonar We took Aurangabad ,Jalna ,Sindkhedraja , Sultanpur Route .It was a long drive for 350 km for 8 hours. Much has been said and written in posts. Needless to say amazing sight to see the crator. We stayed at MDTC. The food was also quite decent. The Manager Mr Angre was also very cooperative. Actual spice to Lonar trip was added by a Local Guide named Anand Mishra(Mobile 9850499792). I am impressed the depth this guys knows and delivers the same beyond expectation. There were quite few ancient temples in the area - much like we get everywhere in India. He was able to explain and make the sculpture in temples speak with us!.Also he showed us the way temple structure is designed for light to make multiple shadows in the temple . Thats not all he was aware of geological aspect of tourism explaining magnetic fields,Basaltic rocks and Spirulana(algea) of Lonar. I would recommand him for all those who want to visit Lonar. D2 Lonar to Aundha Nagnath night halt at Parbhani The distance between Lonar and Aundha is 120 km via Mantha, Jintur. Road was drivable ,bad at some patches. Aundha to among Jyotilinga. There is some controversy for this temple to be called as Jyotilinga. The temple was from Himadri Path school.I could find a small kid who explained to me a little bit. It was quite a good effort commiserating his age n experience. However I am sure there lot more which was not known . We went to Garbhagruh which was almost underground. Over all this place not very clean (As most of our religious places are). Also it doesnt offer decent place to stay. We started for Parli which is 120 km ahead. We prefered to stay Parbhani which is 50 km ahead route to Parli. D3.Parbhani to Parli n back to Pune. We reached to Parli via Gangakhed .As expected it was ancient temple. However this was not having much carving in the wall. In terms of arts it was not much to see. Finally we started for Pune via Beed n A.Nagar |
