Pune in July

My friends and I are planning on visiting Pune in the middle of July. Is this a good time? Or will the rain cause problems for us? We just want to go to a cool quiet place and just take some time off for ourselves. Maybe go for walks see some of the places in and around Pune and just take in the cool weather and vistas. Is this possible in July or will the rains spoil everything?

Oh shoot! I totally missed Pune in the cities section of the forum! Can some mod move this post there? Or will I have to put up a new thread in the Pune forum?

@hermetic

I will be in Pune since I know some people there who we might be staying with. We will use it as a base to visit some of the other hill stations and interesting places around Pune. Will the weather be a problem? Thats my main concern. Thanks for the reply.

Rain trouble in pune

Well, the thing about Pune rains is that once its starts, it does not stop..so if you have an aversion to getting wet, it could be a problem. In case you like the rains, it will be pretty awesome.

Also, a common hangout spot there is Sihangad Fort. Its not too faraway and the option to drive or trek are both available. If you avoid going on a weekend, it can be quite peaceful as there several areas in and around the fort to chill!

Common giys it's never too rainy in pune. It does rain almost everyday during the monsoons, but the intensity is very less as compared to mumbai or mahabaleshwar.

Since, last a few years, there's been a pattern in rainfall.
It starts at usual time with some pre monsoon rain. Then, there is a long pause of around one month. Once, it resumes again, there is continuous rainfall for 2 weeks or so and it is enough to spoil your plans unless the plan is a one day trip to enjoy rains.
