Place around Pune for One/Two Day Trip
Hi all,
I am looking for one Day/Two Day trip (weekend Gateway) around Pune except Lonavala, Mahabaleshwar, Bhimashnkar, Murud, Alibag and Mumbai. I would be driving by my own with my parent and wife.
regards
Rushi

Hi Rushi,
Bhimashankar is a forest reserve area. There isn't any "spot" around Bhimashankar that I can think of but you can try wandering around in the forest area.
There is a resort (whose name is slipping off my mind) which serves decent food and next to it is a valley. If you want, you can try taking a walk around that area too.
One of my friend had made an extensive (albeit incomplete) list of places around Pune at Tourism In and Around Pune as part of the India Travel Guide.

Hi Rushi
I would recommend visit to HILL stations - matheran or Panchagani , mahabaleshwar etc. These days it is too hot and dry everywhere. These places are at least 2-4 degrees lower than other places.
If you love history, Raigad is a good idea. TRy to take Ropeway at least one way and then use services of the guide
