Will be hot !

Spotting tigers is always a lottery.....some people spot within minutes of starting their safari....

some can't spot them even in multiple visits.....

Best of Luck !

I have no experience for may and june but I was there in april (1,2 ,3) and thsi year it was very dry compare to 2006 and 2007. I saw 1 tiger on 6 safaris, I heard every day alarm calls but the problem for Pench is guides (no one is just good) and gipsy drivers (I had not a good one this season).

I was not able to visit Pench, because of Hot whether.

I am planing to visit it in month of Sept or Early Oct.

What about weather in this period?

What are chances of getting glimps of tigers(specially in this session)?

Regards
Rushi

You have to wait october, MP national parks are closed from end of june to october...Wait maybe november, forest guides had time to see where are the tigers in 1 month.

Rushi, I was in Pench end of April this year.

So temperaturewise it will be more or less the same in May/June. I am not sure whether Pench is open in June. It is definitely closed during monsoon.

It was v e r y hot. We started our safari at 5.45 am when it had about 15 degrees C. By 9.30 am when we returned, it had 40 C! By midday it was just sizzling/baking. Mind you I had all the comforts and luxuries of the Baghvan Lodge of the Taj Group, which is absolutely stunning. After 5 pm it became bearable again.

I stayed there for 3 full days and saw 2 female tigers with 1 and 3 cubs respectively.

It's pure luck there is just no guarantee you have a sighting. But then there is other wildlife as well. I absolutely loved the baby langurs.

Sorry, Rushi. I read only your first post.

So I cannot comment on what it's like after monsoon. They say chances of tiger sightings are better during the hot season.
That's why I went in April.

The chances of Tiger sighting are always higher if you visit in hot months. Bearing the hot sun is the price you need to pay if you want better tiger sightings. However you have to bear the sun for a minimal part of the day as in early mornings the weather is near pleasant, however as the day progresses the temperature rises but till that time you are back in your room (opt for an AC room) & during afternoon safari the temperature is higher but as the sun sets again the weather becomes bearable. So in effect you have to bear the sun only for few hours & when the sun is at it's worst you are confined in your AC room.

If you want to visit in September then Tadoba is one option. It remains open throughout the year except Tuesdays. Good variety of sightings including Tiger & Sloth Bear.

Ronak.

Ronak has said it all. I would just like add after spotting tigers in Kanha and Corbett in Winters. In the desire to spot the Tiger do not miss out on the wild life and jungle around you. Enjoy the birds, deers and other animals. Dont be disaapointed if you dont see the tiger (I wish that you do see one) its just about being at the right place at the right time.
All the best and take lots of pictures.
