Question Need suggestion for a family weekend getaway from mumbai

Hi

This is my first post. I am looking for a 2 - 3 day getaway from a mumbai for a peaceful and resting place with lots of greenary and nature.

Will not prefer trekking as parents are old and cant walk much. Will prefer wildlife and beaches and some new ideas if possible.

Have already been to matheran , lonaval, mahableshwar and pune. So will avoid these places.

Please suggest some new places with recommendation on accomodation and transport.

Thanks

where to book hotel? alibag or murud janjira

Hi

Is it better to book hotel in alibaug aur murud janjira itself.
How do I reach harihareshwar from murud janjira ?

What should be an ideal itenary to visit the places around?

I am travelling from mumbai and planning to take sea route via gateway of india.

Plan to invest around 2-3 days ...

please suggest as I am not able to understand how far these places are and how much time should be given for travelling from one place to another ...

Around Mumbai

Hey,

why dont you go to srivardhan. Its a fantastic place with a very good beach. Its around 190kms from mumbai on the Mumbai - Goa NH.
Harihareshwar beach/temple is also 15 kms from srivardhan.. Easily can be done as a weekend trip...

Regards,
Yogesh

Asda, are you familiar with this series? I've never used it, but I hear consistently good reports about it, on this site too. http://www.outlooktraveller.com/bookdetail.aspx?id=7

Outlook Traveller Guides are really helpful.
I have got almost all of them (Only about India though)
Mumbai weekend breaks is a steal at that price of Rs. 225.
All locations in & around Mumbai covered with accomodations, places on interest, eating places, how to reach etc.,

Welcome to IM.
Here are the options for 3 - 4 days
Amboli (Hill station)
Any on the Konkan beaches (Tarkarli, Harihareshwar, Vengurla, Ganpatipule etc.,)
Bhandardara (Actually ideal for 2 - 3 days)
Saputara
