Smile mumbai to goa on bike

hi everyone,
i am saurabh n i am planing to travel from mumbai to goa
on my bike(hero honda splendour).I would be traveling in
december.PLease suggest me the proper route to reach goa,
i heard of three routes

1) NH 17
2) route via pune-kolapur-belgao-goa.
3) scenic route via revdanda-murud and ahead

As i wanted to vist places like harihareshwar, srivardan
ganpatipule while travelling to goa.
I also heard of the ferry services while traveling to goa via
scienic rote, are this ferry services working now also.can u please
provide me any contact nos of ferry services if anyone has,so i can
know the proper timing of the ferry.I am 75% ready to travel via scienic
route but are there road in good condition, garages to repaire bikes.
Which one of the route is more busy is it NH17 or scienic because i
want to avoide traffic. Is there any proper map or layout which i can
follow. And another thing is there any shortcuts while traveling via scienic
route. After reaching ratnagiri should i travel straight to pavas or then divert
to hatkamba n then to goa.

I am confused. So please provide me the proper and the safe way to travel
from mumbai to goa.while taveling i wanted to visit devbag, devrukh,
guhagar,hedvi,malvan,marleshwa r etc.

So please any one who have any information n tips about the rote from
mumbai to goa on bike can send me.I am despirate to know the rote n

Saurabh,

Go for the coastal route (scenic), its called MSH 4(Maharashtra State H'way).

The are ferry connection to cross all the creeks. The frequency generally doesnot exceed 2 hrs.
As the route passes through small towns and villages, finding 2 wheeler mechanic is not an issue, neither is finding a shelter for the night. The trourist spots will have hotels and resorts, rest of the place has plenty of B&B type homestays.

There are few travelogues of the same route available on the net, try googling
Cheers

I totally agree with anindya911, go for coastal route (scenic). The route via pune-kolapur-belgao-goa is also good but i still prefer scenic route. Also, do not worry about rest of the things. You will find everything you need during such long journeys. Start your journey and enjoy the beauty. Do post the pics.

Best of Luck.

Road condition is good and moterable.... only problem that you might phase is current Weather Condition, I heard it rain heavily in Goa area and due to bad weather farry service is also not functioning.

MSH 4 is best route for you. There are 2-3 places where you can get farry.

Mumbai-Panvel-Pen-Alibag-Kashid-Murud (Ferry Murud-Dhighi/Sarve ) - Divegar - Harihareshwar - Srivardan -
Ganpatipule - Ratnagiri - Sindhdurg - Goa.

After crossing Ratnagiri there are lot of lonly and untouched beaches but they are not on Goa route, so you can skip them and can travel towards Goa.

Rushi

Can we take 4-5 bikes too on ferry from murud to dhidhi/sarve? How much time will it save?

@ saurabh
When exactly are you planning the trip?

Morethan saving time, mainly it adds something new in your trip.

If you would like to visit Murud then yes it will save Time otherwise you can skip it and continue your journey on Panvel - Pen - Roha - Kolad route, so no need to goto Murud.

To save some distance you can do ferry jorney from Bhaucha Dhakka to Alibaug. From Alibag to Murud on Bike, then from Murud to Dhighi/Sarve on Ferry.

There is one more Jetty after Srivardhan to Goa route I read it in IMs long back.

Regards
Rushi
