Motorcycle Trip Mumbai-Ajanta, Ellora, Daulatabad fort & Bibi ka Maqbara
Me and some of my friends are planning for a bike riding trip from Mumbai to Ajanta and all other places enroute. What will be the best route that we can take. There are around 20 Bikers with around 15 pillions. Are there any places like a dormitory near the caves where we can be accommodated? People with similar interest in this bike ride can join us. We are leaving on 7th January and would be back on 9th January. You could write to me on mumbaimusafirs@gmail.com

You can check out with M.T.D.C. guest house at Fardapur naer Ajantha . You can check avaibility from mumbai office itself .If planning for Ellora also , there is M.T.D.C. hotel just in front of caves ( only available accomodation at ellora). For mumbai - aurangabad you can come via pune , ahmad nagar as the road condition is very good . Try to avoid via nasik.

In MTDC resort at Farthapur, the dormitory has 10-12 beds or so. But according to your plan, I think you need a lot more beds to accommodate the full group. In Aurangabad, the youth hostel has certainly more beds in their dormitory but I can't tell you the exact number. Again one can't prebook youth hostel dormitories like that of MTDC. So you can just call them over phone (0240-233-4892) to enquire. Ajanata from Aurangabad will take ~2.5 hours by bike and easily doable (cave opens at 9 am only).
Ellora Caves can also be reched by 45 minutes or so from Aurangabad. There one Hotel Kailas (02437-244543, 244446), is very well known and well managed. But they, I am afraid, have no dormitory facilities. Yet they have rooms at 600 rupees (may be 4 in number) or so that they do not display in their advertisement and/or website.
Around a km from the caves, there is one Dharamshala beside the Grishneswar Temple which offers double bed room at 300 rupees or so. Can't say anything about dormitory in the Dharamshala. You can call Hotel Kailas (as I do not have any contact info of the Dharamshala) to enquire about the dormitory (if any) in the Dharamshala. The hotel staffs, I found, are very polite and helping. So hope they can help you.

@mumbaimusafirs: That's a nice trip that you have planned out. And a big group as well.
Would request you to change the thread title to reflect that this is a motorbike trip. "Bike" is a bicycle every where, except here in India where it is generally understood as a shortened form for motorbike.

Thanks Mod! Nice Accommodation
Guys, I returned from bike my trip... In all we managed to have 15 riders on this trip. We stayed at the house of Freeda Monteiro at Paithan road, Aurangabad. Nice people!!! One of our riders got injured due to a fall and Freeda's bro-in-law who is a doctor, treated him and gave him medicines free of cost. The food that she had arranged for was also amazing. Tasty Chicken Biryani and also beautiful veg cusine that she had cooked herself.
We got the feeling that it was not for money that they were doing it...they were doing it just to keep people happy.
We stayed there for 2 nights... she's got two big dorms which has approximately 27 beds and the next time I go there, I'll surely stay at that place.
She's got 8-10 pristine breed dogs: Dashind, Poms, Labs, Rotweilers etc.. The best of them all was Tracy the Labrador.
Freeda's ph no is 9273069209
If you are a big group and have your own mode of transport, I'd recommend this place.
